San Diego Planned Giving Partnership is proud to introduce a new resource for our community: PG Calc Webinars. We are excited to partner with our sponsor for this webinar series, the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation, to bring you this valuable educational opportunity.

Please join us for the next webinar in our series and a discussion afterwards on Donor Advised Funds and Supporting Organizations!

Donor advised funds and supporting organizations are increasingly familiar features in philanthropic planning, yet gift planners too often view these giving vehicles as competitors for donor dollars. This does not have to be and, indeed, usually is not the case. This session will give context to these two giving vehicles, including why they may be compelling gift options for donors. Using a series of case studies, the presenter will demonstrate how donors are using donor advised funds and supporting organizations to achieve their philanthropic objectives, dispel some myths about these giving vehicles, and discuss ways that gift planners can work with donors to secure gifts from donor advised funds and supporting organizations.

$10 for SDPGP Members-with advance reservation
$15 for non-members--with advance reservation
$20 for anyone at the door (credit cards, checks and cash will be accepted at the door).

* This is a Taped Showing of the pre-recorded PG Calc webinar that was originally presented by PG Calc in April 2019

Join SDPGP as we dive into taxes. Explore the basics of our federal income tax structure, including how the 2017 federal tax reform law increased the standard deduction and how that change can affect people's charitable giving considerations. We’'ll look at several taxpayer scenarios in different income tax brackets to see how the law affects people differently. We will discuss gross income and adjusted gross income, charitable deduction limitations, itemized deductions, exclusions and credits. We will discuss donor scenarios to include gift bunching and the effective use of qualified charitable distributions. We will discuss, in brief, capital gains tax, gift tax, and finally the estate tax.

Christine Dunfey has been licensed to practice law in the State of California since 2008. She worked with Deloitte Tax from 2008-2013 as part of their national tax credit specialty group.
